I don't want to judge people by the things they get excited for. I want to understand what causes the excitement. I don't want to just say "I don't get it," but I want to be able to say, "I understand why this makes you so happy," even if I don't get the same feelings from it. Nobody likes a killjoy.
Also, you can be happy just that they're happy! Sometimes we just don't really enjoy the same things, but we can understand the sharing of joy. I think of parents watching their children excitedly playing as an example of shared joy.
